Alcohol and Driving - a 50min DVD Learning Pack

This could be the most useful DVD your Students watch this year!

This 50 minute Learning Pack approaches the issue of drink and drug driving from the point of view of the morning after.  It will ensure your 'soon to be' or current drivers know HOW not to drink/drug drive.

The Learning Pack follows a video sequence of Rob and Jane going out for a meal, who can choose which you follow; they don't drive home of course but are up and on the road early next day; they have a brake light out, get stopped, breathalysed, and to their complete surprise find they are OVER the limit from the night before!  They are arrested and taken to the Police Station, fingerprinted, have their DNA taken, are photographed and placed in the cells.  Eventually they are released, and appear in court a few days later where they receive an inevitable minimum 12m ban.  At this point the video sequence pauses while the group discuss the implications of this happening to them.

This is followed by a 6-question quiz, the answers are given on screen.  Then a learning module - like our bar – where your students learn the strength and elimination time of a range of drinks; it ends with a repeat of the quiz.  Ideally you will keep an audit trail of who, when and before /after knowledge score of each student.

Who is it for? This learning method is ideal for everyone – CPC candidates, your current or 'soon-to-be' drivers.  It also fits well into any induction programme and is essential for anyone allowed to drive a minibus exempt from CPC regulations.

Learning Outcomes: your students will have clear knowledge of HOW to calculate when they can drive after drinking. The problem with the ‘DON’T DRINK DRIVE’ message is that it doesn’t say when you can drive.  We will show how to calculate UNITs so you will know when you are alcohol free and therefore FIT for work/college or to drive. It even has a before and after knowledge quiz.
